Flower by Drew Barrymore

I finally got my hands on some of the goodies from Flower.
At first my Walmart didn't have it, then a couple of weeks later it looked like the display got raided by an angry mob.
Finally, after much patience and dedication, I picked up the products that immediately caught my eye.
First of all, I love the concept that Drew has brought to reality with this makeup line. Skip the fancy advertising, and put all the focus on the products themselves and keeping the price affordable.
The packaging is beautiful and feminine, and the product on the inside is just as beautiful and eye catching.

Here are the swatches and reviews of each item I picked up:

Left to Right: Shine On Lip Glosses in Into The Gardenia and My Little Buttercup

Top to Bottom: Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in So Gladiola, Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in Morning Glory, Color Play Crème Eyeshadow in Flirty Floret, Easy On The Eyes Long Wear Eyeliner in Khaki Shimmer and Navy

Color Play Crème Eyeshadow in Flirty Floret:
This product compares to MAC's Paint Pots. It is a long wearing crème eyeshadow that does not crease whether it is over a primer or on the bare lid. Flirty Floret compares in color to MAC's Indian Wood. I absolutely love the texture and smoothness of this crème shadow!

Retails for: 7.98

Easy On The Eyes Long Wear Eyeliner in Khaki Shimmer:
This eyeliner is so smooth and creamy, it just glides on with ease. Khaki Shimmer reminds me of one of my fave limited edition MAC Fluidlines in Local Wares. It is a dirty olive green with gold shimmer. I wear it on the lid and in my water line. It lasts all day with a bit of fading in the water line.

Retails for: 5.98

Easy On The Eyes Long Wear Eyeliner in Navy:
This color is a beautiful deep navy that would compliment any look. It has the same smooth feel and long wear as Khaki Shimmer. It lasts longer in the water line than Khaki Shimmer. Definitely a must have!

Retails for: 5.98

This is a swatch of So Gladiola on the lips. I absolutely love this lipstick! It is a Kiss Stick Velvet Lip color. It is a beautiful bright, corally peach shade that brightens up the face. This lipstick is smooth, highly pigmented, moisturizing, and long wearing.

Price: 6.98

This is a swatch of Morning Glory which is a Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color. This shade reminds me of MAC's Snob and Crème D Nude mixed together. I love it! It is a beautiful pinky nude, that will compliment any smoky eye. This lipstick is moisturizing, smooth, highly pigmented, and medium long wearing. It surprisingly doesn't settle in lip lines or grab onto dry spots on the lips.

Price: 6.98

This is a swatch on the lips of the Shine On Lip Gloss, in the color Into The Gardenia. It is a GORGEOUS dark berry shade, that looks almost black in the tube. These glosses are sticky, but I like that, it just means it will last longer. I would wear this color alone or over a lipstick. It is very even in pigmentation, and has a long wear staining effect on the lips. LOVE!

Retails for 6.98

This is a swatch of the Shine On Lip Gloss, in the shade My Little Buttercup. This color is such a unique blend of brown, mauve, and nude with a tad but of gold shimmer. I immediately fell in love with this color. It is gorgeous for upping the amp on your every day neutral look. It is sticky as well, but I am telling you, not in a bad way. I hope that makes sense. I love these lipglosses and will definitely be purchasing more!

Retails for 6.98

Overall, I would give all of these products a 10/10 for quality, price, esthetics, and availability.

I will definitely be picking up more items from this line! I am in drugstore love:)

The only thing I would be weary of is the lip products have a very strong rose scent. The lipsticks are straight up rose scented, and the lipglosses are rose mixed with cinnamon. It doesn't bother me that much because I am so in love with the colors.

Urban Decay Oz The Great and Powerful Glinda Palette Swatches

Saturday, February 2, 2013

I was so stoked to see what Urban Decay would come up with for the spring. When I saw they were releasing palettes inspired by Oz The Great and Powerful, I was a bit skeptical.

Beauty products inspired by upcoming movies or shows seem to be a bit gimmicky, and never really have anything special about them.
When I saw the Glinda palette, those thoughts and skepticism were thrown out of the window!

There is also the Theodora palette, that is the total opposite of the Glinda palette. Theodora's palette is so dupable, and what girl doesn't already have a ton of browns and neutrals in her collection? I am so ready for spring and colorful colors, I could throw up! Pastels are so my thing right now. If you feel the same way I do, you will LOVE the Glinda palette.

Can't you tell I am in love?! I am wearing all eye shadows from the Glinda palette, and only the Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Glinda on my lips (WHICH I LOVE).

Let's get to swatchin'!!!!

Here is UD's description of what you get with this beautiful palette:

- 6 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadow in Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer), Aura (iridescent white with blue shift and iridescent white with red shift), Magic (pinkish purple with golden shimmer), Illusion (pale peach satin), Oz (gold with gold glitter and silver with silver glitter), South (warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter)
- 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Rockstar (deep eggplant)
- 0.1 oz Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Glinda (light sheer nude)
- A card with step-by-step instructions on how to get Glinda's look from the film

The versatility of this palette is AWESOME! You get mostly light sparkly shades, but can totally deepen any look you create with Tornado, the deep purple eyeshadow!

From L to R: TORNADO, AURA (iridescent white with blue shift and iridescent white with red shift), MAGIC

From L to R: ILLUSION, OZ (gold with gold glitter and silver with silver glitter), SOUTH

From Top to Bottom: Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Glinda, 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Rockstar (deep eggplant)

From L to R: TORNADO, AURA, MAGIC, ILLUSION, OZ, SOUTH, GLINDA LIP PENCIL, ROCKSTAR EYELINER

ALL SWATCHES WERE DONE OUTSIDE, NO FLASH, AND ON MY HUSBAND:)

The standouts in this palette are definitely ALL the eyeshadows, but if I had to pick...I would choose Aura, Oz, South, and the Super Saturated Lip Gloss. The lipgloss-pencil-crayon thing is BEAUTIFUL, and lasts for such a long time on the lips.
The only troublesome shadow would have to be the gold side in Oz. You will get some glitter fall out, but nothing a makeup wipe can't take care of. All the colors are GORG, and I feel like I have no idea how I lived without this palette!

You can find this palette at Sephora, Ulta, and Beauty.com.
Retails for $49.00
